Renegade Series Champion's Mother Hospitalized After Major Surgery!!!

Janet Frank, mother of four-time Renegade DirtCar Racing Series champion Chub Frank, is resting comfortably at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie,PA after undergoing major brain surgery Thursday, October 30. Mrs. Frank collapsed at her Sugar Grove,PA home October 18 and was then rushed to an area hospital before being transfered to the Hamot Medical Center. After a battery of tests it was determined that Mrs. Frank was suffering from a low grade brain tumor. Mrs. Frank's condition was stabilized in the week prior to the surgery, a procedure that lasted roughly 3 1/2 hours.

Mrs. Frank was removed from the surgical ICU unit Sunday (November 2) evening and moved into her own room at the medical center. Today (Monday) she was released ahead of schedule.

Mrs. Frank and her husband Jerry are former co-owners of the Stateline (NY) Speedway and Eriez (PA) Speedway's and have been solid supporters of their son Chub's racing endeavors. Mr. & Mrs. Frank have two other children; a son Jim and daughter Joni Frank-Parker.
