“CHUB FIRST SHORT TRACK COVER”

FEATURED ON "SPEEDWAY ILLUSTRATED"

Bear Lake, PA --- Chub Frank has made history of sorts when the January 2004 issue of “Dick Berggren’s Speedway Illustrated” goes on sale December 2. That edition of the national magazine will feature its very first short track cover and cover story in the nearly four year history of the magazine by spotlighting Chub “Chubzilla” Frank. The January 2004 issue cover story, "How Chub Wins", was written by Berggren and includes 16 photos spread throughout the 11-page article with the dramatic cover photograph shot by Rick Schwallie.

“We’re just thrilled with it,” stated Chub Frank, the newly crowned 4-time Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series champion. “Our whole team considers it an honor that they would choose to do a cover story on us. We’re excited about it and hopefully this will give our sport a little more attention.”

For Speedway Illustrated Executive Editor Dick Berggren featuring Chub Frank was basically an easy decision.

“I watched him race and I was very impressed with his car control, I was very impressed with the way he handles himself,” stated Berggren. “I was impressed with him top to bottom and he absolutely gets the job done in the race car and he handles himself incredibly well with other competitors and it just seemed to me as if this guy should be the story. And then you watch him race and see how incredibly good he is in these events. And why not? It’s a hell of a story!”

Berggren traveled to West Virginia Motor Speedway the first weekend in October and shadowed Chub Frank and his team over the weekend for the feature article. Berggren also spoke with such industry leaders as Scott Bloomquist, Mike Balzano, Rick Gross, Steve Baker, Mike Farr and others, whose comments made the article.

The January 2004 issue cover story, "How Chub Wins", was written by Berggren and includes 16 photos spread throughout the 11-page article. The dramatic cover photo was taken by Rick Schwallie. Chub Frank had a successful season in 2003 driving his Corry Rubber / Corry Laser / Nystrom's Auto Sales / Draime Racing Engines / Rocket Chassis / Carrera Shocks / Pierotti Motorsports / Farr MotorSports Chevrolet Monte Carlo #1* to a record-setting and unprecedented fourth Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series championship title. He was also recently inducted into the Class of 2004 of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame.

Up next for Chub Frank Racing will be the PRI Show and the Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series Awards Banquet in Indianapolis the first weekend of December.
