Lester Buildings Rocket Chassis at the VP Racing Fuels booth. The 22nd edition of the Motorsports Expo is set for January 12-14 at the plush Atlantic City Convention Center. Motorsports 2007 presented by VP Racing Fuels moves to the Atlantic City Convention Center after a successful 12-year run at the Fort Washington (Pa.) Expo Center. Motorsports 2007 presented by VP Racing Fuels will occupy nearly 300,000 sq. ft. of the Atlantic City Convention Center. The 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series has forty-eight confirmed events to make up the busy ’07 World of Outlaws Late Models schedule, which commences with $10,000-to-win 50-lap A-Mains on February 15 & 17 during the DIRTcar Nationals Presented By Mopar Speed Shop at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, FL. “Definitely looking forward to this season,” stated Chubzilla at his shop as the new Lester Buildings Rocket Chassis were being adorned with new graphics. “We’re in pretty good shape, the best shape I have been in let’s put it that way, since before the fire. We’re really looking forward to the World of Outlaws this year. I think we’ll be a lot more prepared this year.” Chubzilla also admitted that going by his gut feeling he feels his team can contend for the title in ’07. “I hope so,” commented Chubzilla. “But the deal with these guys is you cant have any DNF’s or any dumb things happen. You just have to race hard, hopefully you did your homework and you won’t break anything.” “I think last season we broke one night and it wasn’t anyone’s fault, it was a racing deal, but it put us right out. And I’m sure there are guys that can say the same thing. One night was a difference between winning the thing or running third. And almost any of the guys we race with can look at any particular night and say that night made a difference.” The former WORLD 100 champion also likes the ’07 the new 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series schedule. “I’m happy with that schedule,” said Chubzilla. “I don’t have a problem with running 50 some races. And of course there will be rain outs. Hopefully they can keep it set up so the traveling isn’t so bad and we’re not doing so much zig-zagging.” As for how his fans will react to the all-new color scheme on the popular Lester Buildings Rocket Chassis #1*, Chubzilla hopes it will be widely accepted. “Well I don’t know for sure because I haven’t seen it all yet (laughs)!” chuckled Chubzilla as he and Ron Slavic worked diligently on applying the new graphics. “Actually he (Slavic) is in the middle of is working on it right now. We only have part of it done but right now, I’d have to say yes, it looks real good. I think it will stand out better. The front end, I don’t know because we haven’t done that yet (laughs)!” Chubzilla also noted that he is appreciative of the support of his sponsors including Lester Buildings. “We’re in our second year of a three year contract and hopefully it will end up being longer than that,” stated Chubzilla. “We really, really appreciate their help and support that they have given us.” “And you can’t do this without the fans. If the fans don’t show up you’re not racing for any money. Were real happy with the fan base we have. That’s one of things we like to do when we’re traveling, is seeing all the people. Actually we sometimes see some of our fans pretty far away from where they live. They may be on vacation out west somewhere and they’ll show up. Those are some diehard fans. Definitely could not do all of this without them.” Race fans can keep up on Chubzilla’s exploits by visiting his website at: www.chubfrank.com Chub Frank Racing would like to acknowledge their 2007 sponsors: Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis, AllStar Performance, Area Auto Racing, ARGO Mfg., ATL, Aurora Bearing Company, Brinn, DANO, Dyer’s, Fel-Pro, Fluidyne, Frankland, Genesis Racing Shocks, Hedman Hedders, Hoosier, Hyperco, Jones Racing Products, KB Carburetors, Lehman Motorsports, Nystroms Auto Sales, Mason Racin, Motul, MSD, Outlaw Brakes, Outerwears, Performance Bodies, Performance Friction, Ringers, Rush Filters, Scott Performance Wires, Simpson, SpeedBear, Speedway Illustrated, VP Racing Fuel, Weld Wheels, Woodward Machine, Wrisco Industries. |
