Chub
started his racing career at the age of sixteen and over the
years his commitment to racing and his dynamic racing ability
have won him numerous racing titles and awards. Chub Frank is
a determined individual and is driven to be absolutely the best
at what he does. Chub's present dirt late model program is
headquartered in Bear Lake, Pa. A brand new race shop was
constructed in 2004 after a devastating fire destroyed Chub’s
former race shop. The race program includes Rocket Chassis
Chevrolet Monte Carlos, powered by Custom Racing Engines, complete
pit and shop equipment and a team hauler consisting of a Kenworth Wild-Side transporter. The crew consists of
three team members totally dedicated to Chub on race days as
well as practices, race sessions, and in the shop. |

2006 WoO Season Review: For
most of the season, Frank was close enough to sniff the top of the
point standings, but just not quite in the thick of the championship
battle. An early-season DNF at Lernerville Speedway helped put him in
a hole that wasn’t easy to dig out of. |
|
|
|
But the hard-nosed
western Pennsylvania driver had plenty of memorable moments while
playing catch-up in the standings. He won in May at Wayne County
Speedway – an Ohio track he knows very well – and mastered the slick
Cayuga County Fair Speedway in upstate New York to score a holiday
weekend victory on July 2. When he captured the first event of the
Labor Day Weekend doubleheader at Pennsy’s Tri-City Speedway, he
became just the third driver to win more than two races on the 2006
WoO LMS. |
|
|
|
Frank closed with
a rush. He vaulted up to fourth in the standings after registering a
third-place finish in Tri-City’s second feature, then finished second
in the Pittsburgher 100 on Oct. 8. Forty points out of the lead
entering the season-finale Gator 100 at Volusia Speedway Park, Frank
had an outside shot at the title; he fell short of the crown, but a
sixth-place finish in the event helped him leap-frog Billy Moyer in
the standings to place a career-best third in the WoO LMS points
battle. |

WoO LMS History:
Signed as one of original 12 contract drivers when DIRT MotorSports
restarted WoO LMS in 2004… Has entered all 110 events of the WoO LMS’s
DIRT-era (2004-06), missing only a single feature (failed to qualify
on March 14, 2004, at Atomic Speedway in Oak Ridge, Tenn.)… First
career WoO LM victory came on April 23, 2004, at Lernerville Speedway…
Finished sixth in ’04 standings with one win to his credit… Improved
to fifth in the final ’05 standings, winning three times… Has fared
extremely well in WoO LM events held in upstate New York, winning at
Fulton (’05), Rolling Wheels (’05) and Cayuga County (’06)… Has
returned to his “home” track – Stateline Speedway in Busti, N.Y.,
which is minutes from his shop and was once owned by his father – for
two WoO LM events but experienced rough nights, finishing 14th (’05)
and 15th (’06)… Owns seven career WoO LM wins… |

Other Racing
History: One of the most decorated drivers on the WoO LM tour, Frank

titles from 1983-87 and capturing the Stateline Super Late Model
championship in 1989 and ’90… Began following STARS (later Renegade
DirtCar) series in ‘90s and ultimately became the first driver to win
the regional tour’s championship four years in a row (2000-03)… Was
2001 UMP Florida State LM champion… Won prestigious World 100 at
Eldora Speedway in 2004… Other major victories include the Winchester
(Va.) 200 (1998); Octoberfest 100 at Hagerstown (Md.) Speedway (1998);

from WoO LM tour in 2006… Was inducted into the National Dirt Late
Model Hall of Fame in 2004 in Masters II category… |
