Day 2 at Volusia County Speedway

Daytona Beach, Florida 2/12/02

 Tonight the Ump Late Model’s were joined by the DIRT Modified’s of Ny. For tonight’s racing program. Chub qualified 20^th out of over 70 cars and that put him in the second of six heat race’s he started on the pole and won the heat race by at least 8 car lengths over Wendell Wallace. That put Chub on the outside pole for the 30-lap feature. The late models ran after the DIRT Modified’s. Chub started the feature on an extremely rubbered and very hard to pass race track that was very hard on tires and dropped back to 2^nd with Kenny Pettyjohn in the lead, Chub was all over the back bumper of Pettyjohn and it was clear that he was holding up the 1*, Don O’Neal made a daring move to the outside of turn 3 and passed Chub and the Pettyjohn car in the same lap, Chub tried to move to the out side and had to fall back in line and finished in 3^rd position.
