Bear Lake, PA --- Last weekend proved to be a productive weekend for Chub in his Corry Rubber/Corry Laser/Nystrom's Auto Sales/Draime Racing Engines/Rocket Chassis/Carerra Shocks/Pierotti Motorsports/Farr MotorSports Chevrolet Monte Carlo #1* as the defending Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series (RDCS) champion attended the “Bedford Bash 40” at the Bedford Speedway in Pennsylvania sanctioned by RDCS. Chub drew the 24th pill for qualifying and turned in the seventh quick time out of 49 cars on hand. Running second in his heat race Chub started the main event in 12th place and drove to a fifth place finish which put him into the current RDCS points lead for the 2003 championship title. He is also leading the 2003 “RDCS Outerwears Hard Charger” point standings.
After spending the night in the “Chubzilla Hilton”, the new truck and hauler the team recently purchased, the Chub Frank Racing team headed for Busti, NY and Stateline Speedway on Saturday after the RDCS event at Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland was rained out.

A phone call in to “Steve” Briggs at the shop from "Boom" Briggs in the truck to mount up tires to be in accordance with Stateline Speedway’s tire rule helped the team arrive at Stateline just ten minutes prior to hot laps leaving little time to change the set-up and tires on the Rocket Chassis/Draime Racing Engines #1*.
Chub started last in his heat race and took the win, which put him on the front row alongside Rich Gardner for the main event. With five laps to go Chub held a straight-away lead over Gardner who was being chased by Scott Johnson and Dan Armbruster with Scott Gurdak a distant fifth. Chub was passing the tail end of the field as the white flag fell and cruised to win the event over 2002 Eriez Champion Rich Gardner and Scott Johnson. Chub's win at Stateline, in his first appearance there of the year, was at the track where his now 25 year career was born.
