"2nd Annual Thunder Valley 50"

 August 10, 2002 – Bear Lake, Pa.

 

The 1* team made the 3˝ hour trip to Thunder Valley Raceway in Central City, PA. where owners Willie and Deanna Will presented the $7,000 to win "2nd Annual Thunder Valley 50", for The Renegade DirtCar Racing Series at their beautiful semi-banked 1/2-mile track and facility. A purse in excess of $31,000 was posted for the event, which marks only the third time that the Renegade DirtCar Racing Series has competed at Thunder Valley Raceway and also marks the final visit for 2002 visit the Thunder Valley Raceway website located at www.thundervalleyraceway.com.

 Chub unloaded old faithful, the oldest car in the stable for the Thunder Valley tonight and qualified it in 13th position out of 38 drivers entered at the semi-banked 1/2-mile track. That put Chub in the 1st heat race in which the top 4 advance to the feature and he finished 3rd. Chub knew right away he was going to have his hands full as Thunder Valley is very hard to pass on and with him starting 13th for the 50 lap main event he just had to make the best of what he was dealt. At the half way point Chub was already in the top 10 running in the 9th position when the checkered flag flew on the 50th lap Chub brought the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom’s Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo home in 8th place. The top 10 for tonight were 1. Tom Myers 2. Gary Stuhler 3. Scott Rhodes 4. Scott Haus 5. Jeff Miller 6. Mike Balzano 7. Todd Andrews 8. Chub Frank 9. Bob Salathe 10. Mike Shoemaker.
