Annual Conococheague 100"

The 1* team along with The
Renegade DirtCar Racing Series made their final 2002 appearance at
Hagerstown Speedway last night for the running of the "21st Annual
Conococheague 100". Hagerstown Speedway owner/promoter Frank
Plessinger posted a $42,000 purse for the event with $10,000 going to
the 100 lap feature winner For further information about Hagerstown

Chub brought the oldest car he has back to Hagerstown for
tonight’s race, we call it old faithful. Chub qualified 8th
out of 40 cars entered for the"21st Annual Conococheague 100",
That put him in the 4th heat race in which he finished 2nd
to Mike Balzano who won the heat. Now Chub starts the main event in 12th
and faded back to 15th in the early going but by the 50-lap
mandatory halfway fuel stop top he had worked his way back up to 6th
place. After the fuel stop the race ran until the 87th lap
and with 18 laps to go Chub noticed that the right rear tire was going
flat he managed to bring the Corry
Rubber, Corry
Laser, Nystrom’s Auto Sales, Draime
Racing Engines, Rocket
Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr
MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo home in 3rd place Chub
also received the hard charger award for the event, and gained 90 points
on Balzano in the 2002 Renegade DirtCar Series points chase. The top 5
for tonight were 1st Earl Pearson, 2nd D.J.
Meyers, 3rd Chub Frank, 4th Todd Andrews, and 5th
Nathan Durboraw.
Next
up for Chub will be next Thursday at Florence
Speedway in Union,KY.
