"Mountain State Thunder 75 IV" August 31 2002 - Bear Lake, Pa. Fresh off his North - South victory's last weekend Chub and the team made the 4-hour trip down to Shinnston, West Virginia to Interstate 79 Speedway where co-owners/promoters Mark Richards and Steve Baker posted a $42,000 purse for the running of the $10,000 to win "Mountain State Thunder 75 IV" at their semi-banked 1/4 mile speedway. This is the only 2002 Renegade DirtCar Series appearance at Interstate 79 Speedway visit their web site for more information on Interstate 79 speedway at Interstate 79 Speedway www.i79speedway.com Over 39 drivers signed in for tonight's event to try to qualify for the 24 car starting field, Chub qualified the 1* in 6th out of the 38 drivers that took time putting him in the 3rd position in the 2nd heat race Chub went on to win the heat transferring him into the Isky dash starting on outside of the front row. Chub raced to a 3rd place finish in the dash, so now he starts the "Mountain State Thunder 75 IV"main event in 3rd behind Matt Miller and Rick Aukland with Tim Hitt along side of him. At the start Aukland took the lead for the 1st lap with Miller along his side with Chub in 3rd , Miller took the lead from Aukland on lap 2 and lead until the 62nd lap as they ran into lapped traffic, Auckland took the lead and Chub took 2nd away from Miller on lap 65, Chubzilla and the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom's Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo ran down the leader but didn't have enough laps to get by The Fargo Flash. The top 10 for the "Mountain State Thunder 75 IV" were 1st Rick Aukland, 2nd Chub Frank, 3rd Matt Miller, 4th Tim Hitt, 5th Mike Balzano, 6th R.J.
