Chub Frank Races in Tennessee after

Devastating Race Shop Fire!

Atlanta, GA. – Chub Frank the 4 time Renegade DirtCar Series Champion showed this week what true champions are made of after a devastating fire swept through the shop of Chub Frank Racing on Tuesday March 23, located near Sugar Grove, PA. Seven fire departments responded to the early afternoon blaze which was declared a total loss. Frank is one of the ‘Dirty Dozen’ dirt Late Model stars on the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. Already getting calls, and being informed by friends of the tremendous and instantaneous outpouring of support from people all over the country via emails and posts on numerous message boards, Frank was truly touched by the support extended to his family and team. They loaded up the transporter with everything that was left on Wednesday night and headed south to Bulls Gap Tenn. for the ‘Dwayne Hommel Benefit Race’ on Friday night and the World of Outlaws Late Model Series race on Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway.

Chub and crew headed up by Rick (Boom) Briggs, Rich Hart & Wayne Neuwriter arrived at Volunteer Speedway on Thursday afternoon for practice on Thursday night. Upon arriving at Volunteer Speedway the team began sorting out the trailer to prepare for practice as other teams arrived parts were being brought in from Mark Richards of Rocket Chassis and Timmy McCreadie for Chub to use to replace some of what was lost in the fire to keep Chub going. “We’ll race this weekend,” declared Frank. “I don’t even know how, I have to look at it but the one car got fire damage, the back up car, and the other car kind of got dropped off the jack stands. That stuff we’ll get done, we just have to figure out what we’ll do for wheels and tires and stuff like that.”

On Friday Night Chub went out and qualified the Corry Rubber, Allstar Performance, Nystrom's Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, The Slavic Group, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo #1* in 4th out of over 66 different drivers signed up to compete in the Hoosier Duayne Hommel Benefit Race (and Chub had never even seen this race track until yesterday They lined up for the 35 Lap race by qualifying time so Chub would start 4th and by it to the checkered flag in 5th. Then on Saturday March 27, Chub and crew unloaded for tonight’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series second Tennessee stop of the season 60-lap feature paying $10,000 to win. Chub qualified the 1* in 3rd putting him in the 3rd heat race starting on the pole Brian Birkhoffer got the lead from Chub at the start and Chub finished in 2nd transferring him into the second dash for tonight’s event. In the second dash Chub started in 4th and finished in 4th putting him in the 8th starting position. At the end of 60 laps Chub held on to a 9th place finish “The car was a little off and I was hanging on to finish 9th and get a top 10” The top 10 for the World of Outlaws Late Model event were 1st Brian Birkhofer 2nd Greg Johnson 3rd Randall Chupp 4th Scott Bloomquist 5th Freddy Smith 6th Dale McDowell 7th Darrell Lanigan 8th Clint Smith 9th Chub Frank 10th Billy Moyer.

The Chubzilla Team is now headed for Challenger Raceway in Indiana, Pa. for tomorrows Spring Fest 40 paying $5000.00 to win.
