 & Tumble Weekend

Bear Lake, PA --- It was a rough and tumble weekend for Chub Frank as Chubzilla jumped back on the World of Outlaw Late Model Series (WoO LMS) tour with appearances last Friday and Saturday at The Rock/Allegany County Speedway and Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway, respectively. It was a weekend rife with bad luck for Chubzilla and the team although it hasn’t dampened their championship aspirations in the least. Chub Frank competed this past weekend in his Lester Building Products, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo #1.

On Friday night Chubzilla qualified third quick during time trials at “The Rock”/Allegany County Speedway in Cumberland, MD but an incident in the third heat race put the Chubzilla machine on top of the guardrail making the car incapacitated for the rest of the evening. Pulling the back-up car out of the hauler, Chubzilla was scored 18th in the feature event after being involved in another crash. The Chub Frank Racing team worked until 4:30 AM making repairs on the car to have it ready for Saturday night’s WoO LMS action at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway.

Marking the first-ever appearance by the WoO LMS at Bill Sawyer’s Virginia motor Speedway, Chubzilla qualified seventh fast during time trials and scored a fourth in the third heat. When the main event rolled around Chubzilla started 15th and had moved into 12th when a wreck occurred on lap four. Pitting for a right rear tire change and some sheet metal repairs Chubzilla returned to the field at the tail and fought his way through the pack up to fourth place. After the checkers waved Chub and the crew discovered the left front upper ‘A’ frame had broken and was rubbing the coil-over.

“It’s a good thing we have two weeks off to repair the cars,” chuckled Chubzilla after the weekend was complete.

As it now stands, with no WoO LMS events scheduled this coming weekend, Chub Frank Racing will turn their attentions to making repairs and working towards trying to work to win the next two WoO LMS events which will be held at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, PA on April 29th before moving to Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD on April 30.
