Bear Lake, PA --- Chub ‘Chubzilla’ Frank and the 1* Lester Buildings,
Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr
MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis team
spent the weekend in his home state of Pennsylvania where he scored a win
and a second place finish in two events at two tracks. The $10,000 to win Priority Care RaceFAN 50, the biggest event in McKean County Raceway history saw Chubzilla dominate over the 59-car field and take the victory after finishing second in his heat race. On Sunday Chubzilla traveled to Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway to finish out the rain-delayed Pittsburgher 100 sanctioned by the World of Outlaws Late Model Series. After leading laps 17-87 Chubzilla settled for second place at the finish after dueling with lapped cars. "I just got stuck in lapped traffic," said Chubzilla. "I thought the lapped car I followed into (turn one) was gonna go to the bottom and I was gonna sweep him on the outside. So when he checked up there on the outside, I had nowhere to go but stop on the top, and (winner Shane Clanton) just cut to the bottom and did what he had to do to take the lead.” Chubzilla’s second-place finish kept him in title contention, pulling him within 40 points of current point leader Tim McCreadie. "Now we'll just see what happens at Volusia. It's another 100-lapper, so anything can happen. Somebody could drop out. I just hope it ain't us." Up next for Chubzilla is the season-ending Gator 100 at Volusia Raceway Park in Florida October 13-14 that will close out the 2006 WoO LMS season. Chub and The 1* team would also like to thank the following for their support and services without them we couldn’t do it.
