Bear Lake, PA --- Chub and the 1* Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis team made the two and a half hour tow to Friday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series ‘Summer Showdown in Sarver Town 50’ at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa.

With the biggest crowd turnout of the season at Lernerville Speedway ChubZilla timed in seventh fastest out of 50 registered drivers. Chub finished second in the third heat race right behind Steve Francis. Chub, a two-time WoO LMS winner at Lernerville, had come from the seventh starting spot to snare the lead from Francis on lap 25, but the untimely flat right front tire on lap 31 dive-bombed his effort. “I must have run over something on the racetrack,” mourned Frank, who rallied to salvage a sixth-place finish. “It had been going down for awhile; I was waiting for people to pass me four laps before it went flat. I could smell the right-front smoking when I’d go into the turn. Chub would return to the tail end of the field and started working his way to the front running around the top side of the race track. Chub would go on to finish in seventh position to salvage a good night for points. “It was good,” he added when asked about his car’s setup, which was accented by his use of the discontinued Hoosier 35-compound tires that he has stockpiled to use on slick tracks like Lernerville. “It was a perfect track for (the 35s).”

Chub and the crew now move on to World of Outlaws Late Model Series Conococheague 50 at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD. ChubZilla timed in eighth fastest out of 47 registered drivers. Chub finished second in the forth heat race right behind Clint Smith. Chub would line up in the eight starting position for tonight’s Conococheague 50 where he worked his way into second position and with the checkered flag in site Lanigan snared the runner-up spot just yards from the finish line after Chub slowed with mechanical trouble exiting turn four. The powerless 1* coasted under the checkered flag in third place. “The main wire that juices up all the switches in the ignition came out of the harness and the car shut off,” said Frank, “I just kicked it out of gear and coasted, hoping it would make it (to the finish line).”

Up next for ChubZilla will be a the North South 100 at Florence Speedway in Union, KY. On Friday and Saturday August 11th and 12th .
