Chubzilla Winds up Western Swing

Bear Lake, PA --- Chub and team ChubZilla complete with Ron Slavic of the Slavic Group and the apparel trailer traveled west immediately after the race last Saturday to Lebanon, MO for the ‘Missouri 50’ at Lebanon I-44 Speedway, where ChubZilla driving his Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Lake Shore Paving, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis #1* timed in eleventh fastest out of 31 registered drivers. Chub finished third in the second heat race right behind Dale McDowell and Darrell Lanigan. Chub went on to finish eleventh in the main event behind Brian Birkhoffer, Dale McDowell, Earl Pearson, Jimmy Mars, Billy Moyer, Josh Richards, Shane Clanton, Clint Smith, Steve Francis and Terry Phillips after starting in the 8th position. “Were just over thinking ourselves, kind of over engineering it” stated Chub.

Chubzilla and team moved on to Farmer City Raceway on Wednesday Night July 26th in Farmer City, IL. Shortly after they arrived at Farmer City and hot lap right before qualifying started, thunderstorms struck following hot laps forcing the postponement of Wednesday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Farmer City Raceway – the second time this season that the tour made an unsuccessful attempt to race at the quarter-mile fairgrounds oval. They announced that Wednesday’s Farmer City 50 has been rescheduled for Mon., Aug. 14.

So now the series, moved north for Friday and Saturdays ‘Heartland Nationals’ race at Deer Creek Speedway in Spring Valley, MN on July, 28th and 29th where Chubzilla timed in fifteenth fastest out of thirty three cars and finished third in his heat race. He then went on to finish seventh in the main event after starting in the 11th position. On Saturday Chub timed in twelfth fastest out of thirty cars and finished third in his heat race. He then went on to finish sixth in the main event after starting in the 9th position. “We just can’t seam to catch a break out here on this Western Tour”.

The 1* team now moved on to Granite City, ILL. For the Lucas Oil Series race at Tri City Speedway On Sunday night July 30th which was on the way home from Minnesota. Chubzilla timed in sixth fastest out of twenty eight and Went on to win the third heat race. Chub lined up for tonight’s race in the 1st position right beside current Lucas Oil points leader Earl Pearson Chub would finish out this trip with a second place finish behind Shannon Babb now the team heads back to Bear Lake, PA.

Up next for ChubZilla will be a WoO LMS sanctioned event at Lernerville Speedway in
Sarver, PA. on Friday August 4th. Then on Saturday August 5th the series moves on to Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD.

The entire Chub Frank Racing Team would like to send a speedy recovery to Doc Lehman who is currently home recuperating from heart surgery earlier this week at Aultman Hospital in Canton Ohio.
