A joint decision between Red River Valley Speedway promoter Bruce Olsen and WoO Officials was made to cancel tonight’s race due to rain. Tomorrow’s schedule will be as follows (subject to change): pit gates open at 4 p.m.; front gates open at 4:30 p.m.; WoO hot laps; Wissota hot laps; WoO time trials; Wissota heats; WoO heats; Wissota consi*; WoO dash (will run normal dash for position and not Dirty Dozen Dash for Cash as previously announced); WoO consi*; Wissota feature; WoO feature (75 Laps).

Chub and the Lester Building 1* team made their first and only appearance in North Dakota this weekend August 6th & 7th at Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo, ND with The World of Outlaw Dirt Late Model series The best late model drivers in the country came together to race at Red River Valley Speedway for the event purse valued at over $125,000. The winner of Saturday’s main received $40,000 for first. The Friday night portion of the weekend had to be canceled due to hard rainstorms that hit the area late Friday afternoon.

On Saturday the 1* Lester Building team unloaded and prepared for the nights big event at Fargo for qualifying, 36 cars were on hand and Chub qualified 7th quick starting him in the 4th heat race starting 2nd beside Billy Moyer at the drop of the green Moyer got the lead from Chub, Moyer went on to win the heat race with Chub in second that would transfer Chub to the $40,000 to win main event starting in 7th place on the starting grid. On the start of the 75 lap main Steve Francis took the lead with Darrell Lanigan right behind on lap 24 Lanigan drove past Francis and was now the leader with ChubZilla now in 4th and moving forward quickly after 3rd place on lap 39 Chub moved into 3rd place.

On the 38th lap the officials had to red flag the event so the drivers could change helmets due to vision problems. On the restart Lanigan was still the leader with Francis and Chub closely behind. Then on lap 52 Lanigan pulled to the inside of the track and retired for the event handing Francis the lead with Chub in second Chub tried just about everything he could do to work his way past Francis but just couldn’t quite pull it off and Steve Francis went on to win with Chub finishing in second Dale McDowell was third and Rick Eckert forth Bart Hartman rounded out the top 5.

Chub and the Lester Building 1* team are now headed to Davenport Speedway in Davenport Iowa for Tuesday August 4th $10,000 to win event before heading back home to Bear Lake, Pa. Then on Friday August 13 and Saturday August 14 the team will compete at Lernerville Speedway in Sarver, Pa then move on to Lincoln Speedway in New Oxford, Pa. With The World of Outlaw Dirt Late Model series.
