Chub Frank and Chub Frank Racing had a successful return trip to Fulton Speedway in Fulton, NY on Wednesday night June 29 as the Stacker 2 World of Outlaw Late Model Series invaded central New York. For Chubzilla, who on the two previous trips to Fulton scored a second and a third, the third time was a charm as the Bear Lake, PA star driver scored his first Stacker 2 World of Outlaws Late Model Series feature win of the 2005 season in his Lester Building Products, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Rocket Chassis Monte Carlo #1.

Chubzilla not only scored the main event he also pulled off the hat trick by winning the dash, heat and 50-lap main event.

“The car was awesome tonight, the crew did a good job and we kept making changes all night,” explained Chubzilla in victory lane. “I was watching those guys qualifying and the top was going away so when I went out late I figured I would try the bottom and that was good so I think everyone went to the bottom after that.”

“We kept with it all night and won the dash, won the heat and won the feature and I haven’t done that in awhile (laughs)!”

Chubzilla won over Scott Bloomquist, Robbie Blair, Steve Francis, Todd Andrews, Dale McDowell, Dan Schlieper, Brent Rhebergen, Rick Eckert, Shane Clanton, Clint Smith, Tim McCreadie, Steve Casebolt, Billy Moyer, Pat Ward, Jim Bernheisel, John Blankenship, Josh Richards, Scott Haus, Dan Stone, Alan Sagi, Eric Jacobsen, Kirk Ryan Jr and Darrell Lanigan.

Chubzilla held firm control during the entire race leading all 50 laps. On a late race restart after a caution Scott Bloomquist attempted to overtake Chubzilla but he was able to pull away and win by an eight-car length margin.

“I knew the car was good and (Rick) Boom (Briggs) my crew chief was telling me I had a good lead and I was OK but for some reason with Scott when you get a yellow with eight or ten laps to go he seems to find about 3/10s (laughs), “ commented Chubzilla. “So you never know. I ran her hard for 50 laps because I figured everyone else was coming.”

“This track is racy, I love this place. This is our third race and we’ve got a first, second and a third. We could come back here every week!”

Up next for Chubzilla will be Bridgeport Speedway in Bridgeport, NJ on Thursday, June 30th. A travel day will get the World of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series to Stateline Speedway in Jamestown (Busti), NY Saturday, July 2nd for the track’s 50th anniversary celebration and a ‘Chubzilla Homecoming’. Delaware International Speedway in Delmar, DE hosts the series Wednesday, July 6th followed by separate events at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, MD Friday, July 8th and Saturday, July 9th. The long trek winds up at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, OH Tuesday, July 12th.
