| The 1* star crew unloaded the car nicknamed Dixie at tonight’s event Chub qualified 10th out of 46 registered drivers for tonight’s 50 lap event at the historic fairgrounds slightly banked 1/2 mile track. Chub started on the outside pole of the second heat race and dropped in to second place behind D.J. Myers and upon entering the next corner was hit in the left rear ¼ panel by the 3rd place running car causing a complete restart. Chub stopped on the front straight away to have an official remove the sheet metal from around the left rear tire, as the official approached the car Chub noticed him backing away quickly and was rear ended extremely hard by Mike Shoemaker of Hesston, PA. causing him to drop out of the heat race with extensive damage to the rear of Chubs car. Chub examined the car in the pits and Dixie had frame damage so the 1* team quickly unloaded the anniversary car that was being hauled as the backup car. Chub lined up in the 1st b-main to find out what needed to be done to this car for tonight’s race and then took a provisional start for the "Independence Day Classic 50" and started 24th and finished in 10th . Then the work began after the race to repair Dixie with the assistance from Robbie Blair, John Mason, and Rod Conley. Chub and the team burnt the midnight oil late into early Saturday morning at the track and load Dixie for the next race on Saturday at Thunder Valley Raceway on July 5th. | ||||||||||||
