Chub Goes Back to Eriez Speedway

June 2, 2002- Bear Lake, Pa

Sunday night found the Renegade DirtCar Racing Series traveling to owner/promoter Francis Seamens slightly-banked 3/8ths mile Eriez Speedway for the running of the $5,000 to win "Conway and O'Malleys 50" featuring a purse in excess of $26,000. Sunday's stop marked the eighth time that the Renegade DirtCar Racing Series has appeared at Eriez Speedway. Chub has turned probably more laps at this racetrack than he cares to remember, as he used to help his father Jerry prepare the racing surface before he started his racing career.

Chub and the 1* crew arrived at the track around 4:00 as the races were scheduled to begin around 5:30, Chub qualified in 11th position out of 41 cars entered which put him in the 3rd heat, he won the heat race and that put him in the 9th starting spot. Chub knew he had his work cut out for him as Eriez is very hard to pass on and was a little rough tonight, which makes it almost impossible to pass anybody unless they make a mistake. Chub drove the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom’s Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo to finished the feature in 6th position tonight. Davey Johnson won with Jim Dandy 2nd Dick Barton was 3rd Randle Chupp rode home 4th and David Scott rounded out the top 5.
