Prior to the June 20th World of Outlaws (WoO) Late Model Series race at Orange County Fair Speedway in Middletown, NY race fans are uniting for a benefit barbeque scheduled for 1 p.m. at the fairgrounds to help WoO Late Model Dirty Dozen member Chub Frank rebuild after a devastating fire in March. During the fire at his shop in Sugar Grove, PA Frank’s team lost virtually everything including tools, shocks, springs, two engines, as well as more than 100 tires and wheels.

Strictly Dirt is organizing the benefit event along with Michael Sanchelli, with additional sponsorship from Dover Brake and Mohawk Construction. Strictly Dirt is an organization formed in February with the goal of giving fans of dirt track racing an opportunity to unite, share their passion and give back to the sport they love. The Strictly Dirt concept was the brainchild of longtime Area Auto Racing News and Circle Track contributor Gary Tremper.

"Chub suffered a devastating loss and we’re doing all we can to come together help him out," said Tremper.

"The race fans in the northeast are very passionate and we want to step in and help Chub get through his situation," said benefit co-organizer Michael Sanchelli.

Strictly Dirt promises that the event will be a great place to come hang out and mingle with friends and drivers before the WoO Late Model Series takes to the track at Orange County Speedway. To help raise funds for Frank there will be a raffle for prizes including two tickets to Super Dirt Week in Syracuse, NY, and two tickets to the Eastern States 200 at Orange Country Fair Speedway.

When questioned about the benefit Frank said he felt honored that the dirt racing community was coming together to show their support. "I am very appreciative of any kind of help,” said Frank. “I just want to thank everyone who has stepped in the past few months and supported us.”

Admission to the Chub Frank benefit barbeque will be by donation and all of the funds raised will be presented to Frank that night. For more information about the event, contact Gary Tremper of Strictly Dirt at (845) 427-5576.
