Bear Lake, PA --- Defending Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series 3 time champion Chub Frank, driver of the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom's Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports Chevrolet Monte Carlo left Bear Lake late Thursday for New Thunder Valley Speedway in Lawndale, NC. for the first appearance of the Renegade DirtCar Racing Series first trip to the "Tar Heel State" since the 1996 season. Nearly $60,000 in total purse money has been posted for the "Battle In Carolina" which will take place at New Thunder Valley Speedway in Lawndale, NC Friday, May 30 and at New 311 Speedway located near Madison, NC Saturday, May 31

The trip wasn’t with out some excitement stated Chub, we were going down the road and truck motor kept shutting off and at 70 mph, it gets your attention real quick. We made it to Lawndale, NC and qualified 16th on the 4/10ths mile semi-banked track out of 30 cars that put Chub in the 1st heat and on a race track that’s hard to pass on he finished 4th in the heat so that will put him in the show starting 10th.

Chub finished the "Battle In Carolina 40" in 8th place behind winner Chris Madden, Jeremy Clements, Mike Balzano rode home third with Ray Cook fourth and Steve Lucas fifth. Sixth through tenth was Davey Johnson in sixth followed by Dennis Franklin, Chub, Mike Duvall and Doug Sanders.

Then on Saturday Chub and the rest of the Renegade DirtCar Series went on to the New 311 Speedway located near Madison, NC. The 1* crew had to limp the ailing truck to 311 and worry about it later as this was another points race. Chub qualified the 1* in 7th for tonight’s "Battle In Carolina 50" on the New 311 Speedway 1/2 Mile Oval. That put him in the first heat in which he won and that would start him in the 7th position for tonight’s "Battle In Carolina 50" where he would go on to finish 4th behind winner Mike Balzano, 2nd Davey Johnson, 3rd Chris Madden, 4th Chub, 5th Steve Lucas.
