Rob Blair from Titusville, PA captured the Bossard-Crawford GM Store 50 on Friday night at Raceway 7. Blair topped a field of 48 MACS Late Models in securing his second win of the season at Raceway 7. He earned $5000 for the victory.

Other winners on the card of racing included Bill Henry from Conneautville, PA. His win was his second in two nights in the Laser Tool and Plastic Semi-Late division. Chub Frank was asked to drive an E-Mod at race time, and the Bear Lake, PA driver raced to the win in the Maloney Tool and Mold E-Mod feature. Matt Thomas from Erie, PA gained his first Raceway 7 victory in the Fame RV Center Street Stocks. In the J 'n D Door Company Hobby Stocks, David McLaughlin was a first career winner.

Forty-eight MACS Late Models invaded Raceway 7 for the Bossard-Crawford GM Store 50 with twenty-four cars taking the green flag. Rob Blair set fast time at 17.502 with David Scott second fast. Heat winners were Matt Urban, Dick Barton, Todd Andrews, Jay Watson, and Keith Barbara. The Dash winner was Urban. Ron Davies and Rich Gardner took the B-Mains

Matt Urban and Bob Close led the Bolt Place Late Model starting field to the green flag, but caution ensued immediately as several cars had problems in turn one. On the restart, Urban led the first lap with Close taking command on lap 2. Close took off to the early lead followed by Dick Barton. After a lap eleven restart Alan Dellinger took over at the front until Blair made his way to the front, gaining the lead on lap 17. From there it was Blair, who had started third, leading the rest of the event. Eleventh starting Chub Frank made his way to the runner-up position by lap 30 and challenged Blair the rest of the event, but to no avail as the Titusville speedster had the race well under his command in winning by 0.764 seconds. Barton was third after a late race duel with Scott Gurdak. David Scott started last and finished fifth, as Ryan Markham, Todd Andrews, Chuck Harper, Alan Dellinger, and Rich Gardner rounded out the top ten.

E-Mod Results

Mike Potosky led 2003 Champion Randy Hall through the early laps of the Maloney Tool and Mold E-Mod feature with Hall challenging at every corner. Coming down the main straight near half-way, Hall suddenly lost power and had to be assisted from the track. Potosky then led until very late in the race when Chub Frank, making a rare E-Mod race, got by and went on to take his first ever checkered flag in the division. Frank stated after the event that this was the first race for the car and it was a good mount. Frank's margin of victory was 0.144 seconds. Dave Hess, Jr. made a late bid in the closing laps but fell just short in settling for second. K.C. Decker, Dale Applebee, and point leader Mike Hess followed. Heats went to Potosky, Justin Carlson, and Applebee, and the Last Chance Race winner was Dan McDonald.

A cool sunny Saturday afternoon greeted race fans for the Mid Atlantic Championship Series Super Late Model “Battle by the Lake” sponsored by Danny Moore’s Corry Chrysler/Corry Ford. Chub Frank took control of the 50 Lap MACS main event just past the half way mark and never looked back. Brian Crandall won his first Spectator feature of the season. Mike Knight won his first of the season making a last lap pass to win a caution strewn Outlaw Cadet feature. Bobby Rohrer led only the final lap by inches to win the Budweiser Sportsman feature. Mike Hess won the E-Mod event over Dave Hess Jr. and Chub Frank making his Stateline E-Mod debut. Casey Swabik won his first Super Challenger event.

Robbie Blair and Chris Hackett battled side by side for the first four laps of the first MACS qualifying heat until Paul Briggs stopped in the pit entrance to bring out the caution on lap six. Blair went on to win the event. Scott Cross was the early leader of the second heat but Denny Chamberlain used the high groove for the win. Ty Myers jumped in front of Chub Frank and maintained the lead through out heat number three. Chad Valone spun in front of the field in heat four collecting Chuck Harper, Dick Barton and Jason Morell. Dan Armbruster took the lead on the restart to win heat four.

Ryan Markham led lap one of the B-Main then fell to third as Doug Eck and Rod Conley both got by on lap two. The yellow flew for Mickey Wright after a spin in four. The leaders remained the same with Wally Fox and Mark Ramsey in fourth and fifth. Conley moved under Eck at the two to go signal but could not make it stick allowing Eck to go on to the win.

Dick Barton took the lead on lap one of the second consolation event. Andy Boozel, second fast qualifier, was second with Scott Cross third. Mike Christopher spun with three laps complete and Barton took the outside pole for the restart. Cross moved into the second spot on the restart and that was how the race ended with Barton first then Cross and Boozel.

Rob Blair led from the start in the fast Dash with Chris Hackett second and Paul Wilmoth third. Blair won by a straight away with Hackett and Wilmoth nose to tail at the checkers.

Robbie Blair and Chris Hackett were on the front row for the MAC 50 lap main event. Hackett just beat Blair across the line to lead lap one then Denny Chamberlain did a slow spin to a stop in turn two for the first caution of the event. The restart was a repeat of the first with Hackett leading at the line then Scott Johnson spun into the infield on lap four and the yellow reappeared. Hackett took the point this restart also with Blair still second followed by Rod Phillips and Scott Gurdak. Ryan Markham slowed on the front stretch for the next yellow with five complete. Chub Frank was in the top five on the restart moving from his eleventh starting spot to fifth in five laps. Hackett had a five car length advantage by lap ten with Phillips, Blair, Gurdak and Frank fighting for the second spot. Phillips was scored in the number two spot on lap fourteen and began reeling in Hackett. Philips caught Hackett two laps later and led lap fifteen barely beating Hackett to the line. Frank had got by Gurdak and was on the inside of Blair for the third spot as Hackett desperately tried to get the lead back from Philips. Frank beat a fading Hackett on lap twenty for the second spot and Blair moved under Hackett. Paul Wilmoth snuck under Blair and Hackett to steal third with twenty-three laps down. Frank grabbed the lead from Philips on lap twenty-seven and moved into heavy lap traffic. Frank continued to extend his lead as the race stayed green. Gurdak suffered a flat on lap forty-six bringing out the yellow and allowing the field to close with Frank. The single file restart saw Frank out front with a lap car between him and the second place Philips. Wilmoth moved under Philips on the final lap to take second as Frank cruised to the victory.

E-Mod Results

Dave and Mike Hess made up the front row of the E-Mod event and Dave was leader after one as Mike settled into second and Chub Frank was third. The yellow appeared on lap four and the field was quickly aligned for the restart. Frank moved under Mike Hess on the restart but a car stalled in the pit entrance brought out the yellow. Mike Hess used the inside to take the lead on the restart then Wade Mohawk found the front stretch wall for the second yellow. Mike Hess remained the leader after the restart with Frank and Dave Hess hotly contesting the second spot. Dale Applebee was fourth with Justin Carlson fifth and Bill Thomas sixth. Mike Hess stayed out front for the remainder of the laps and Dave Hess just nipped Frank at the line for second.

Erie, Pa:  Thirty Super Late Models were on hand for the Bossard Crawford sponsored Mid Atlantic Championship Series “Battle by the Lake” at Eriez Speedway. Titusville’s Rob Blair won the first event on Friday at Raceway 7 then Bear Lake’s Chub Frank won from his eleventh starting spot on Saturday at Stateline. It looked like Frank was going to repeat at Eriez but a flat tire forced him to the rear with twenty laps remaining setting up Rob Blair for his second MACS win of the weekend. Tom Norland led from green to checkers in the Spectator feature. Joe Weber won his first feature of the season in the Outlaw Cadets.  Dave Hess Jr. won the E-Mod feature. Dan Osborne won his third Four Cylinder event and Pat McGuire was the Budweiser Super Sportsman winner. Bob Belson won his first Super Challenger feature.

Chris Hackett had trouble in the first MACS heat collecting Dave Hess Jr. and Andy Boozel as Chub Frank led. Hackett, Hess and Boozel were all able to continue but from the rear of the field. One lap later Mickey Wright spun in the same spot but everyone got by. The remainder of the event went green with Frank getting the win followed by Rod Conley and David Scott.

The second MACS heat saw a spin in one at the start also. Chevy Scott fell victim to the incident. Mike Johnson led every lap while Keith Barbara lost second to Paul Wilmoth on the final lap.

The third heat was marred by a spin on lap four involving Scott Cross. Rob Blair was in the lead with Ryan Markham second followed by rookie Paul Briggs. Chuck Harper retired on lap five and Wendell Pinckney stopped in the infield on lap six. Blair won by a straight away.

Jason Morell had a right rear flat as the MACS B-Main pulled onto the speedway and officials let him repair it before the event was started. Morell had more troubles with a spin on lap three. Andy Boozel was the leader with Darrell Bossard second and Scot Cross third. Boozel won the event to advance to the 50 Lap $5000 to win feature event and Morell’s troubles continued as his car slowed to stop with water leaking from under the car.

Chub Frank took the lead at the start of the Dash and never looked back with Merle Terry second and Mike Johnson third.

Chub Frank and Merle Terry were on the front row for the 50-lap MACS event. Frank wasted no time getting out front. Mike Johnson grabbed second as Terry slid to fourth behind Rob Blair. Paul Wilmoth completed the top five. Blair moved under Johnson on lap seven for the runner up spot as Frank caught the end of the field. David Scott was sixth with Ron Conley seventh and Rich Gardner in eighth. Blair closed a little with Frank as they worked through lap traffic. Dick Barton was moving up and was shown ninth behind Gardner on lap seventeen. Briggs got into the loose dirt high in turn four for a slow spin bringing out the first caution of the event with nineteen laps complete. A lap car separated Blair and Frank on the restart with another lap car between Blair and Johnson. Blair disposed of the lap car one lap later but Frank had built a ten car length lead. At the half way point Frank had lengthened his lead over Blair and Blair was a half lap ahead of the third place Johnson. Scott Cross spun in two on lap twenty-eight and Barton spun after the yellow to avoid hitting Cross. Dave Hess was penalized two spots for jumping the last restart and Blair was now on Franks rear bumper for the restart. Frank and Blair broke away from the field. Doug Eck brought out the next yellow with twenty laps remaining. Frank suffered a flat during the yellow and was given the mandatory two caution laps to return. Frank rejoined at the end of the field giving Blair the lead with Johnson second and Paul Wilmoth third. Blair pulled away from Johnson on the restart. Wilmoth fought by Johnson for sedon on lap thirty eight. Blair was into lap traffic with ten remaining. Blair finished the run in the top spot after following Frank for over half the event. Paul Wilmoth finished a strong second with Mike Johnson third.

Mike and Dave Hess were first and second at the end of the first lap of the E-Mod event. Dave Will spun on lap two for the fist caution. Mike Hess remained the leader with Dave Hess second then Justin Carlson, Dale Applebee and Chub Frank. Dave Hess used the low groove coming out of turn two on lap seven to move into the lead. Frank had moved to third with Applebee fourth and Carlson fifth. Shawn McArdle and Jason Illig brought out the caution on lap twelve. Bill Taylor was pulled into the infield on the hook during the caution. Just one more lap was completed when a spin by Will and Mike Moon brought out the yellow. Dave Hess won the event with Mike Hess just holding off Frank for the second spot.
