Bear Lake, PA --- Last weekend proved to be a winning weekend for Chub Frank in his Corry Rubber/Corry Laser/Nystrom's Auto Sales/Draime Racing Engines/Rocket Chassis/Carrera Shocks/Pierotti Motorsports/Farr MotorSports Chevrolet Monte Carlo #1* as the defending Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series (RDCS) champion won his second Renegade Dirt Car Racing Series (RDCS) sanctioned win of the season Saturday taking the $7,000 top prize in the "Battle At Brushcreek 50" presented by Coca-Cola at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex near Peebles,OH. In addition, Chubzilla started the weekend out on Friday at Raceway 7 for an opportunity to test and experiment and picked up a third place finish.

Starting seventh aboard the Corry Rubber/Corry Lazer Technology/Nystrom's Auto Sales/Carrera Shocks/Draime Racing Engines/Rocket Chassis No. 1* Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Chubzilla used a "slingshot" move exiting turn four on lap 37 to pass Davey Johnson for the lead. Frank then worked his way through lapped traffic holding off Johnson by two car lengths to secure the win.

"Man, what a ride!", stated the very happy winner. "This place is just like they call it, wicked fast. Your just constantly on the throttle and turning left! Credit to my crew chief "Boom" Briggs and the rest of the guys on the crew. We talked about what we were going to have to do in order to win this. Davey got out there and was really strong on the bottom to middle. I just told myself you got to go against the wall and hang on. This place is definitely different but it's a fun track to drive."

Frank also won his heat race and qualified tenth fastest.

Chubzilla strengthened his RDCS points lead by 140 markers over Davey Johnson. Chub also leads the 2003 OUTERWEARS CO. "Hard Charger" Point Standings and is the first competitor to win multiple RDCS features this season.

Friday evening Frank went to the ultra-competitive Raceway 7 in Conneaut, OH to do some testing with chassis and shock set-ups that turned out to be a worthwhile testing session that had Chub come from seventh to third at Ron Nielson’s speed plant.

CHUBZILLA NEWS & NOTES: Mike Farr from Carrera Shocks was on hand to assist Frank and his crew. He became a more valuable assistance than first imagined. “(Crew chief) Boom (Briggs) drives truck and delivers bark chips and his daughter had a ball game Friday night and Boom had a delivery in Erie after her game,” explained Farr. “He then parked his truck at exit 3 in Pennsylvania and I went and picked them up after Boom made his delivery. After the feature at Raceway 7 I then took them back to Rt. 7 and met up with Chub & Robbie Blair and they all went happily off to Brush Creek and I went back to Erie.” Boom’s children are Katie & Tyler.

At the RDCS race at Brushcreek Chub ran the Rocket Chassis #1* that he utilized during his huge win in the Xtreme (UDTRA) SHOOT-OUT at Dixie last fall.

At Raceway 7 Chub used the car he ran in Florida during Speedweeks.

The next scheduled event for Chubzilla is Friday May 9 at Raceway 7 in Conneaut, OH. RDCS is off this coming weekend.
