RaceFest World Championship 100" October 21, 2002 Chub and The Renegade DirtCar Racing Series have wrapped up the 2002 racing season this last Sunday at West Virginia Motor Speedway in Mineral Wells, WV. sanctioning the $30,000 to win "Charter Communications RaceFest World Championship 100". A total purse in excess of $105,000 had been posted by West Virginia Motor Speedway owner/promoter Pat Minnite for the 25th appearance of the Renegade series to the high-banked 5/8ths mile speedway for more information on West Virginia Motor Speedway visit their web site at www.wvspeedway.com Chub brought the only car he has left for the final Renegade DirtCar Series event which is something he never does but with the Renegade points all locked up that’s all he figured he needed. Chub unloaded the 1* the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom’s Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo on Saturday for hot laps and the car was pretty good but shortly after it began to drizzle and continue all night. On Sunday the sun came out but the racing surface was real wet and that usually makes for a rough racetrack. Chub qualified the 1* in 4th position out of over 90 drivers entered for the "Charter Communications Race Fest World Championship 100" and lined up in the 4th heat race in 4th Chub drove to the front and went on to win the heat race. Now he’s in the dash starting in 5th Chub went on to finish the dash in 3rd so he now starts the feature in the 3rd starting spot. With the track being real rough it was going to be tough to race on and finish. Chub broke a birdcage bracket on the 22nd lap and pulled the 1* the Corry Rubber, Corry Laser, Nystrom’s Auto Sales, Draime Racing Engines, Rocket Chassis, Pierotti Motorsports, Farr MotorSports, Chevrolet Monte Carlo into the pits for his first DNF of the Renegade 2002 Season. The top 5 finishers were 1st Steve Lucas, 2nd Davey Johnson, 3rd Rick Aukland, 4th Robbie Blair, and 5th Booper Bare. Final 2002 Renegade DirtCar Racing
