| Wet Grounds Cancel Renegade Series At Thunder Valley Raceway!!! |
| August 9, 2003 |
| Wet grounds forced Thunder Valley Raceway owners/promoters
Willie, Deanna and Tad Will early Saturday to cancel the Renegade DirtCar Racing Series sanctioned $7,000 to win "Thunder
Valley 50" at their semi-banked 1/2 mile facility located near Somerset, PA. It is unclear if the $32,000 purse event will
be rescheduled. "I feel terrible that we've had to cancel the race", stated Willie Will in a telephone conversation with RDRS officials. "It has rained every day this week and the grounds are just saturated. The forecast calls for more rain today and tonight and I just feel it's best to cancel the show early rather than have people travel with the risk of the show being rained out. We really wanted to present this show but the weather is nothing we can control." |
