Chubzilla Sets New Track Record

Chub Frank and Chub Frank Racing were back on tour with the Stacker 2 World of Outlaws Late Model Series campaign in his Lester Buildings, Corry Rubber, All Star Performance, Corry Laser, Slavic Corporation, Farr MotorSports, Custom Race Engines, Rocket Chassis #1* and during the tour’s last stop at Lebanon, MO’s I-44 Speedway for the “Missouri 50” broke a new track record.

On Tuesday July 26 the series competed at Lebanon, MO’s I-44 Speedway for the “Missouri 50” with Chubzilla setting a new track record during time trials with a fast lap of 14.851 seconds at an average speed of 90.903mph. Chubzilla then went out and won his heat race.

After starting second in the main event Chubzilla eventually suffered a flat tire and had to work his way back through the field where he eventually finished eighth in the rain-shortened event. “It was really kind of cool after setting a new track record,” commented Chubzilla. “When I was pulling off the track the crowd was standing up and going crazy. I ran around there wide open and never lifted.”

“I didn't even get upset when the right rear went flat, I knew something was up the night was going too good (laughs)! So I'll just take the eighth place and get out of there and move on to Fargo. As I understand it Larry and Tom from Lester Buildings and Perry and Big Bob from HP cards will be at Cedar Lake. I’m looking forward to that.”

The event was taped by SPEED Channel and will tentatively air November 12th at 4:00p.m. EST.

Chubzilla now sits fourth in Stacker 2 WoO LMS points, only 36 out of first place.

The World Of Outlaws Stacker 2® Late Model Series next travels to Red River Valley Speedway in West Fargo,ND Friday and Saturday for the “North Dakota Governor’s Cup”. Friday’s action will feature a complete program capped off with a $5,000 to win – 30 lap event with Saturday’s action paying $12,000 to win the 50 lap main event.
